« Tu intellectualises tout » m’a reproché récemment un ami, en ajoutant « et c’est facile pour toi, tu es à l’abri du besoin et tu n’as pas de vrais problèmes. »
Perplexe, je me suis demandée si « tout intellectualiser » était d’une part, une façon de fuir la réalité en se réfugiant dans la théorie et l’abstraction ou au contraire une façon de se confronter à la réalité en la questionnant, en remettant en question ses idées reçues et ses ancrages ; et d’autre part si cela nécessitait un contexte confortable ou si cette tendance se déployait lorsqu’on rencontre de l’adversité.
C’est vrai qu’intellectualiser est un bon moyen d’enfumer, si c’est pour pondre ou répéter des théories sans s’y confronter. Une belle façon d’échapper à soi et à son vide en le comblant de mots qui seront vite pompeux et arrogants car bien loin de nous-même. On a ici l’intellectuel illusionniste qui jette de la poudre aux yeux ensorcelant aisément ceux qui préfèrent ne pas penser et se raccrocher à des mantras. Et c’est vrai qu’il aura besoin d’un certain confort pour exercer car il doit déjà supporter son décalage constant avec lui-même, il doit assumer de se mentir à lui-même pour garder sa force de conviction auprès des autres, ce qui lui demande une grande énergie. Ainsi, dès lors qu’il perdra pied, il se carapatera et disparaîtra dans son nuage de fumée.
Mais dès lors que l’on se confronte aux choses en essayant de les abstraire de leur subjectivité, cet exercice d’intellectualisation devient tout simplement un travail de pensée. Un travail d’extraction de soi, pour observer les choses d’un autre angle, pour envisager les choses d’un autre point de vue, pour sortir de son cadre, enlever ses œillères, se mettre en mouvement, aborder les choses autrement, les déconstruire pour les reconstruire d’autres façons, a priori impossibles.
Est-on enclin à ce travail de pensée dans un environnement confortable ? Plutôt non. Car naturellement, nous aurons envie de protéger notre confort et donc de ne pas le remettre en question de peur de le déséquilibrer et de le perdre. Alors que dans un environnement inconfortable, nous n’avons rien à perdre. C’est ainsi, que confrontés à des peines et des douleurs, nous commençons à prendre du recul par nécessité. C’est souvent face à un changement brutal, comme la perte d’un être cher, la maladie, l’accident que l’homme va éprouver la nécessité de se remettre en question. Penser, se repenser est alors un moyen de survivre face à l’hostilité rencontrée.
Qu’en est-il alors de celui qui pense « confortablement » installé ? Déjà pour être « confortable », il est en accord avec lui-même. Il se connaît et s’accepte comme il est. Il est dans l’altérité car pour se connaître il a besoin de l’autre qui lui permet à la fois de se déconstruire et de de reconstruire en permanence. Il est donc en travail perpétuel sur lui-même, il se questionne, il s’observe grâce aux yeux de l’autre, il est « au monde ». Et dans son mouvement permanent, dans sa danse, il se confronte joyeusement à tout : à lui-même, à l’autre, à l’ordre établi, à l’inconnu… Il n’a pas peur de perdre puisqu’il sait qu’il ne possède rien. Il jouit donc pleinement de l’instant, de son envolée vers l’inconnu, de son saut dans le vide, de sa légèreté, de la liberté qu’il acquiert ainsi en pensant.
